The Netherlands is one of the flattest places on earth, with relatively small elevation differences varying between -6.76 and +322 meters. By using elevation data from Mapzen (available on Tangram Heightmapper) I exaggerated the height differences of the Netherlands in order to expose the variation in elevation. This makes places like the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in the center of the country stand out more. A geologic map from The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (TNO), was carefully aligned with the elevation map to also illustrate the great variety of soils in this small country.
